ABORTION

I started writing this post last week. I was gonna give answers to everyone’s reasons why people should get abortions. Then I realized, I don’t have all the answers, but I know why I believe what I believe.

Abortion is murder. Yes, a “fetus” is just a clump of cells, but so are full grown humans. In Psalm 139:13-14 it says “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” God knew us in our mother’s womb. He knew what our name was gonna be. He knew what kind of person we would be. He knew how many hairs were gonna be on our head.

I’ve heard a few Christians say “I’m pro life for myself but pro choice for other women because it’s not my place to say what people should do with their bodies.” How can a Christian stand for killing? You cannot be pro life and pro choice. We are called to be set apart from the world, not to conform with what society says is okay.

If your child was conceived through trauma, such as rape or incest, then give your child up for adoption! Newborns are needed for adoption. Give other parents who cannot have kids a chance to raise one. Your child will not go into foster care, like many people think!

“Making abortions illegal will only make safe abortions illegal.” This is true, but you know the risks of preforming an at home abortion. You know the risk when you have sex. You know the risk when you don’t use protection.

In 2018 there was study done that showed 67.5% of women regretted having an abortion. People who have had an abortion are at a higher risk of needing therapy for severe depression and anxiety.

You never know what your unborn baby could be. Give them a chance at life.

  1. So thankful your birth momma chose life. She gave me the greatest gift imaginable and I know she would be proud of the woman you are growing into. Love you! XO-mom

  2. Hi Ashley—a great post!
I went in to look at the posts I’ve written on abortion—over the years, there were 4 pages of posts on the subject.
As an adopted child, I have alway been against abortion…because if my biological mother had chosen abortion, you and I wouldn’t be chatting.
Here is the link to one of the posts that is based on a book a publisher had sent me about an adopted woman who went looking for her story and found that she had actually been aborted…but lived.
    A very powerful story.
I thought you might enjoy it…’
